Wisconsin Auction Guide

Bob & Judy are planning on moving out of state and have decided to sell their herd of Brown Swiss cattle. The DeJongs have had the reputation for selling Brown Swiss cattle both private treaty & through sales the past years. Their most recent consignment topped the Dec. 09 Elkhorn Harvest Royal Sale at $4,000.

63 cows, 20 bred heifers, 35 open heifers (calves – 14 mo.),
Herd Facts
*Currently 60% of the cattle are registered.
*Top sires used w/daughters of Premium, Dominate, Scipio, Eagle, & Dally selling.
*The herd is not on test however the cows are milking well w/bulk tank receipts showing a 4.4% B.F. 3.6% pro. & SCC of 155,000.
*Cows are well timed for the sale w/12 cows being just fresh & another 12 close springers.
*Herd health is excellent; 9-way vacc. given, routine hoof trimming.
*Several potential project heifers will sell.
